Studi su Carlo Michelstaedter
 
Nella sua breve vita, Carlo Michelstaedter ha cercato di dare una risposta alla domanda che da sempre assilla l’uomo, che pensa se sia possibile conferire un valore assoluto alla propria esistenza. Lo ha fatto ponendosi sulle orme di coloro che a quella domanda hanno risposto con la propria vita, pertanto «educatori», «guide dell’umanità». Nel volume si parla appunto del dialogo intenso intrattenuto con alcuni di questi: Socrate, Gesù, Tolstoj e Petrarca.
 
In his short life, Carlo Michelstaedter tried to answer the question that has always troubled the thinking person: whether or not it is possible to give absolute value to one’s existence. He did this by following the traces of those who responded to that question through their own life, and thus “educators” and “guides of humanity”. This volume discusses his intense dialogue with some of these: Socrates, Christ, Tolstoy and Petrarch.
